01 · KNIT GAUGE

From fine-gauge flat knit to bold chunky structure — all in-house

We work to create a wide spectrum of flat knit products from smooth, fine gauge pieces to a coarser or thicker-look fabric. Our flat knit team works year-round, knowing when to use the proper knitting needle gauge to create anything from a lightweight all-season flat knit cover-up to a warm, winter-weight chunky flat knit. We understand how to work with a wide range of gauge units — measuring the number of needles in one inch width of the machine needle bed — covering 7gg to 16gg across our Shima Seiki computerized flat knitting fleet.

  • 14-16gg — Lightweight flat knit jerseys, performance pieces, fine-gauge layering
  • 10-12gg — Classic flat knit pullovers, versatile mid-weights, structured cardigans
  • 7-9gg — Chunky flat knit sweaters, textured outerwear, bold stitch statements
  • Home textiles — flat knit throws, cushion covers, and décor across gauge ranges

02 · KNIT TECHNIQUES

Computerised precision across every flat knit technique

In addition to using the proper gauge for flat knit products, we add style and character by incorporating a variety of techniques to our craft. Our Shima Seiki computerized flat knitting machines support Intarsia, Jacquard, Computer Embroidery, Print, Pointelle, Rib structures, Fully-Fashioned shaping, Tuck & Miss, and more — along with all kinds of flat knit stitches. Every technique is programmed digitally and executed with exact repeat accuracy across your entire flat knit order.

  • Jacquard — multi-colour pixel-precision patterning across needle beds
  • Intarsia — isolated colour blocks, no floats, clean reverse side
  • Cable Knit — twisted stitch cables and crossover textures, machine-rendered
  • Rib structures — 1×1, 2×2, mock-rib, and custom constructions for stretch and fit
  • Pointelle — open-work lace and eyelet patterns for breathable flat knit fabric
  • Fully-Fashioned — machine-shaped panels, reduced seaming, minimal waste
  • Tuck & Miss — 3D textured effects via selective needle engagement
  • Embroidery & Print — post-knit finishing for brand and graphic detail

03 · RAW FABRICS & YARN

Your best flat knit product starts with the finest yarn!

Because a finished flat knit piece is only as good as the materials that went into making it, all of our yarn is carefully selected. Each type of yarn presents a feel and look of its own. Imagine being wrapped in the warmth of a luxurious Merino flat knit throw, working out in style and comfort in a cotton flat knit, or relaxing in a breathable organic cotton flat knit at home. Seamerge knows when and how to use a variety of yarns to create the very best flat knit garments and home textiles. Located in the textile hub of Surat, Gujarat, we benefit from a stable and technologically advanced industrial yarn supply chain.

  • Merino Wool — superfine, temperature-regulating, next-to-skin soft flat knit
  • Cashmere — Grade-A combed, halo finish, luxurious warmth for premium flat knit
  • Organic Cotton — GOTS-traceable, breathable, ideal for fine gauge flat knit
  • Wool Blends — nylon or acrylic blends for durable shape-retaining flat knit
  • Modal / Viscose — silky drape, vibrant colour uptake in flat knit garments
  • Recycled Fibres — GRS-certified rPET yarns for sustainable flat knit collections
  • Acrylic & Blends — cost-effective, wide colour range for flat knit home textiles
